The Chatham Turkey Trot is a fun 3.1 mile run / walk in Chatham, Massachusetts. Participants bring a bag of groceries along with their registration fees, and all of the money and groceries are donated to the Lower Cape Outreach Council.
The Turkey Trot is held each year on Thanksgiving morning, and starts at 8 a.m. in the parking lot behind CVS in Chatham, at the corner of Main St. & Stage Harbor Rd.
There is a pie sale before and after the Turkey Trot (including gluten free pies!), and a raffle after the Turkey Trot which is filled with local business donations.
All money raised by the Chatham Turkey Trot goes to the Lower Cape Outreach Council to support their mission to provide emergency assistance of food clothing and financial support to individuals and families in Brewster, Chatham, Eastham, Harwich, Orleans, Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet which will lead to healthy, productive and self-sustaining lives as part of the Cape Cod community.
